Det opstår ved Zimmermühle i Ebersdorf i Löbau-distriktet, gennem sammenløbet af Großschweidnitzer-vandet og Cunnersdorfer-vandet.
Flodløbet løber forbi Ebersdorf mod nord mellem byens centrum i Löbau og Löbauer Berg. Nords for byen følger landsbyen Georgewitz, derefter følger en smal kløft, Georgewitzer Skala, som strækker sig op til Opole. Ved Kleinradmeritz begynder løbet mod nordvest gennem en flad dal med mange slyngninger, hvor landsbyerne Glossen, Grube, Trauschwitz, Lautitz, Maltitz og Wasserkretscham ligger.
