Er ontstaat bij de Zimmermühle in de Löbauer wijk Ebersdorf in het Liebesdörfel, door de samenvloeiing van het Großschweidnitzer water en het Cunnersdorfer water.
De rivierloop stroomt langs Ebersdorf naar het noorden tussen het stadscentrum van Löbau en de Löbauer Berg. Ten noorden van de stad volgt het dorp Georgewitz, daarna volgt een smalle klovenvallei, de Georgewitzer Skala, die zich tot aan Opole uitstrekt. Bij Kleinradmeritz begint de loop naar het noordwesten door een vlak dal met veel meanders, waar de plaatsen Glossen, Grube, Trauschwitz, Lautitz, Maltitz en Wasserkretscham liggen.
