Enz udspringer ca. 650 meter syd-sydvest for Lichtenborn på 544 m over NHN. Kildeområdet ligger på Arzfelder Højland. Herfra flyder den først primært mod syd-sydvest og når efter ca. 150 meter strækning kommunens område fra Arzfeld. Videre i syd-sydvestlig retning strømmer den gennem Arzfeld. Ovenfor Arzfeldermühle dæmmes Enz til en lille sø. Lidt nedenfor møllen danner Enz, nu flydende mod syd, kommunegrænsen mellem Kickeshausen og Arzfeld, længere mod syd imellem Jucken og Emmelbaum. Her begynder Neuerburger Enztal. På sin vej mod Neuerburg drejer Enz nu mod sydøst. Efter at have passeret landsbyerne Enztalhof, Engelsdorf, Zweifelscheid, Weidendell og Beyerhof når Enz landsbyen In der Enz, hvor Wahlbach munder ind fra højre i Enz.
