La Enz ha origine a circa 650 metri a sud-ovest di Lichtenborn, a 544 m s.l.m. L'area sorgiva si trova sull'altopiano di Arzfeld. Da qui, scorre inizialmente in direzione sud-ovest e dopo circa 150 metri di corso d'acqua raggiunge il territorio comunale di Arzfeld. Proseguendo in direzione sud-ovest, attraversa Arzfeld. Sopra il mulino di Arzfeld, la Enz viene sbarrata formando un piccolo lago. Poco sotto il mulino, la Enz, ora scorrendo verso sud, costituisce il confine comunale tra Kickeshausen e Arzfeld, più a sud tra Jucken ed Emmelbaum. Qui inizia la valle della Enz di Neuerburg. Nel suo cammino verso Neuerburg, la Enz si dirige ora verso sud-est. Dopo aver superato i villaggi di Enztalhof, Engelsdorf, Zweifelscheid, Weidendell e Beyerhof, la Enz raggiunge il villaggio di In der Enz, dove il Wahlbach si immette a destra nella Enz.
