Langenberg er et byområde i Velbert i Mettmann-kredsen. Langenberg har i øjeblikket 15.610 indbyggere.
Den velbertske bydel ligger ved sammensmeltningen af Hardenberger Baches, som kommer fra syd fra Neviges, og Deilbaches, som kommer fra sydøst og fortsætter over Nierenhof og Essen-Kupferdreh ind i Ruhr. Deilbach udgjorde tidligere grænsen mellem det preussiske grevskab Mark og hertugdømmet Berg, i dag Rheinland og Westfalen.
