Langenberg è un quartiere di Velbert nel distretto di Mettmann. Langenberg conta attualmente 15.610 abitanti.
Il quartiere di Velbert si trova alla confluenza del rio Hardenberger, che proviene da sud da Neviges, e del rio Deil, che proviene da sud-est e scorre ulteriormente attraverso Nierenhof e Essen-Kupferdreh nel fiume Ruhr. In tempi passati, il Deil formava a Langenberg il confine tra la contea prussiana di Mark e il ducato di Berg, oggi Renania e Westfalia.
