Modtagelsesbygningen er en symmetrisk udformet struktur med en gavlstående midtersektion, der har to etager, og to en-etagers, tagflade-stående sidefløje. Den oprindelige bygningstil blev forstyrret af den senere tilføjelse af en forhængt kabine til trafiklederen. Med renoveringen af stationen samt moderniseringen af Odenwaldbanen i 2008 forsvandt dette, så stationens oprindelige form blev genskabt.
