Stedet ligger nord for Kernebyen Kremmen ved landevejen L 19 og ved Beetzer Sø. Sydvestligt strækker det cirka 1186 ha store naturbeskyttelsesområde Kremmener Luch sig.
I Beetz er der arkæologiske fund af en bosættelse fra Urhistorien, et gravområde fra bronzealderen, en bosættelse fra den romerske kejsertid og en middelalderborg med landsby. Godset tilhørte fra omkring 1400 indtil det 17. århundrede familien von Redern.
