De plaats ligt ten noorden van de kernstad Kremmen aan de rijksweg L 19 en aan de Beetzer See. Zuidwestelijk strekt zich het ongeveer 1186 ha grote natuurreservaat Kremmener Luch uit.
In Beetz zijn een nederzetting uit de prehistorie, een grafveld uit de bronstijd, een nederzetting uit de Romeinse keizertijd en een middeleeuws kasteel met dorp archeologisch aangetoond. De grondheerlijkheid behoorde rond 1400 tot in de 17e eeuw toe aan de von Redern.
