I sandet ved Rotenburg er navnet på et tidligere grusgraveområde i en floddal i den mellemliggende Fulda. Efter afslutningen af grusudvindingen blev området udpeget som naturreservat sammen med de tilstødende arealer. Det beskyttede område omfatter den dannede grusgravsø, en gammelt vandløb fra Fulda med en bestand af søgræs, blødtræskovområder, rørskove, høje urter, succession områder, brakland og græsland.
