Ophausen ligger på skråningerne af Bergisches Land. Nabobyerne er Herfterath mod nordøst, Müllerhof mod syd og Oberdreisbach mod vest. Mellem Ophausen og landevejen 350 ligger campingpladsen Bröltalpark.
I 1901 havde landsbyen 38 indbyggere. Her boede landmand Hilger Behr, landmand Peter Josef Büth, murer Heinrich Franken, landmand Joh. Albert Kreuzer, landmand Heinrich Josef Kröner, landmanden enke Joh. Heinrich Schmitz, landmand Joh. Peter Schmitz, landmand Stephan Schmitz og skrædder Peter Josef Wippermann.
