Bydelen Rußdorf ligger øst for landsbyen Utscheid i en dal. Størstedelen af byen er præget af skråninger. Det er en gadeby. Parallel med byen flyder Udersbach i retning mod Berghausen.
Omkring 1820 bestod der uden for hovedbyen Utscheid kun gården Baustert-Waldburg og en bygning, som senere blev til glasfabrikken. I løbet af det 19. århundrede kom nogle bosættelser uden for Utscheid til. Den største af disse blev Rußdorf. Bydelen havde i 1840 allerede tolv huse. Ved dannelsen af bydelen mistænkes der at være en forbindelse til den tidligere glasfabrik.
