Albarreal de Tajo er en spansk kommune i provinsen Toledo, i den autonome region Castilla-La Mancha.
Begrebet "alba" kan stamme fra de keltiske termer "albiga" og "albiganus". Tidligere blev det kaldt "Albala", et ord der på arabisk betyder "klosettet". I det 11. århundrede blev det kaldt Albalat, som på arabisk betyder "vejen", og i det 16. århundrede, Albarreal eller Alcalá del Río. Senere, da det fik titlen Villa i det 17. århundrede, blev navnet ændret til Alba Real, som er titlen på dets nye herrer, greverne af Alba Real.
