Det drejer sig om en omfattende landdistrikt beliggende nær kysten. Inden for dens grænser findes Pagoeta Naturpark. Integreret i Urola Costa-regionen ligger det 29 kilometer fra San Sebastián. Den kommunale grænse krydses af Cantabrian Motorvejen, af N-634 vejen mellem pK 14 og 16, af den provinsielle vej GI-2631, der fører til Asteasu, og af en lokal vej, der forbinder med Orio.
