Es handelt sich um eine weitläufige ländliche Gemeinde, die nahe der Küste liegt. Innerhalb seiner Grenzen befindet sich der Naturpark Pagoeta. Eingebettet in die Region Urola Costa, liegt es 29 Kilometer von San Sebastián entfernt. Das Gemeindegebiet wird von der Autobahn Cantábrico, der Nationalstraße N-634 zwischen den PK 14 und 16, der Provinzstraße GI-2631, die nach Asteasu führt, sowie einer Lokalstraße, die mit Orio verbindet, durchquert.
