Portugalete er en kommune i den spanske provins Biscay, i regionen Baskerland, med et areal på 3 km². Portugalete er en del af Stor Bilbao og havde i 2001 51.066 indbyggere. Floden Nervión løber mellem to byer, Portugalete på venstre bred og Las Arenas på højre bred. På grund af den store naturlige flodmunding, El Abra, var Portugalete i middelalderen en vigtig havn. I 1511 fik Porten til Bilbao handelsrettigheder, hvorefter betydningen af Portugalete som havn aftog.
