Katedralen La Santa Creu i Santa Eulàlia er dedikeret til Den Hellige Kors og Santa Eulàlia, Barcelonas skytshelgen, en ung jomfru, som ifølge katolsk tradition led martyrdøden under den romerske tid. Dedikationen til Santa Eulàlia er kendt siden 877, da biskop Frodoí fandt relikvierne af helgeninden og højtideligt flyttede dem til katedralen.
