San Ponç-dæmningen blev bygget mellem 1949 og 1957.
Den ligger i den midterste dal af floden Cardener, i Solsonés-kommunen, grænsende til Bages, i provinsen Lleida, Catalonien. Den er en del af rækken af dæmninger i Llobregat-flodens bassin.
Depressionsområdet dannet af Cardener ved stedet for San Ponç-helligdommen er blevet udnyttet til opførelsen af dæmningen oven på strukturelt dybt skårne platforme af vandløb. Den er beliggende i et smukt område med fyrreskov med en fremragende udsigt mod nord over Cadí-bjerget.
