Casa de las Columnas skal ligge omtrent på stedet for kapellet Virgen del Buen Aire, som ikke længere eksisterer. Præsten Fernando Narbona lod omkring 1780 bygge Casa de las Columnas og satte et trækrucifiks i haven, på det sted hvor tabernaklet engang stod.

Efter nedrivningen blev huset sammen med andre huse i Calle Betis købt af cubaneren Rafael González Abreu, som var promotor for etableringen af det hispanisk-cubanske Institut for Amerikansk Historie. I vores århundrede blev det et lejehus eller corral og I 1973 blev bygningen erklæret "total ruin" og der blev beordret rydning.I 1984 købte rådhuset resterne af Casa de las Columnas fra det hispanisk-cubanske Institut for Amerikansk Historie for 12 millioner pesetas, og i marts 1987 blev restaureringsarbejdet på bygningen tildelt og afsluttet om sommeren 1989.

I bygningen er nu Borgercentret for Sevilla kommune beliggende, hvor forskellige kommunekontorer og et offentligt bibliotek er placeret.
