Katedralen blev bygget takket være hovedsageligt bidragene fra "waidiers", farverne fra Amiens fra middelalderen. De tjente formuer med "guesde", en farveplante hvorfra det berømte Blå fra Amiens er opstået. En skulptur afbilder disse "waldiers" på den sydlige facade af katedralen (rue Commont).
