Det drejer sig om en Pôle kilometer (Milepæl) af Frihedsstien, bygget i 1948 som et uforglemmeligt minde om Europas befrielse.
Vejen forbinder Normandiet med Slaget om Ardennerne i Bastogne. Den komplette rute findes på Routeyou som en motorvejsrute kaldet Frihedsstien og som cykelsti med forlængelse til Nederlandene (Wageningen) i ti dele kaldet VDLAV (Frihedsstien på cykel).
