350 meter fra Place Pey-Berland og katedralen Saint-André ligger Musée d'Aquitaine i lokalerne af den tidligere Faculté des Lettres et des Sciences, der blev opført i slutningen af 1800-tallet på stedet for Feuillants-klosteret, hvor Michel de Montaigne blev begravet i 1592. Museet viser historien om Bordeaux og dens region fra forhistorien til det 21. århundrede. Dets samlinger omfatter cirka 700.000 genstande og er opdelt i tre store områder: arkæologi, historie og etnografi. Musée d'Aquitaine ledsager dine opdagelser med særudstillinger, tematiske værksteder og, efter aftale, guidede ture med kommentarer.
