Dæmningen ved L'Escale ligger ved Durance-floden i Alpes-de-Haute-Provence mellem kommunerne L'Escale på venstre bred og Château-Arnoux-Saint-Auban på højre bred. Bygget mellem 1959 og 1962 er L'Escale-dæmningen en vægtdæmning med fyldte omgivelser. Den består af en del i beton, der er 30 m høj, som bærer broen, og en dæmning, der er 610 m lang, hvilket giver en samlet længde på 760 m. Den fungerer som vandindtag til at forsyne den del af EDF-kanalen, der ender ved kraftværket i Oraison, samt til Manosque-kanalen.
