As an extension of rue Mazelle, overlooking the town, is the German military cemetery where 1756 soldiers (1748 Germans and 8 French) who died during the 1914-1918 war rest.
Some of them died during the battle of Longuyon-Noërs on 24 August 1914. The others died in Longuyon after being wounded on the battlefields of the region because during the occupation the town of Longuyon had several hospitals.
