Kommunen har mere end 400 indbyggere og består af MATTON, en landsby spredt på bunden af en lille dal, der afvandes af en ørredbæk, samt den lille landsby CLEMENCY. Banel-skoven, der adskiller landsbyen fra den belgiske grænse, var mødesteder for en vigtig fransk-belgisk maquis. Den kom til en dramatisk ende i juni 44, efter at tyskerne angreb. (Se mindesmærket ved grænsen på vejen Carignan-Florenville) Den monumentale kirke i Matton, færdiggjort under Napoleon III, kigger ud over landsbyen.
