Toppen er markeret af en bredt synlig hvid, sfærisk radarstation .
Adgang sker via velmarkerede stier. Vandrere starter normalt fra Col Notre-Dame (lettere og kortere) eller Col du Testanier (mulighed for en længere rundtur).
360°-udsigten over kysten, Estérel og de maritime alper beskrives af mange vandrere som endnu mere spektakulær end den fra Cap Roux, da flere inde i landet og hele kystlinjen fra Fréjus til Antibes er synlige.
Navnet "Pic de l'Ours" betyder " Bjørnetop ", men der har aldrig været bjørne her . Navnet kan stamme fra massivets form .
