Stedet ligger 1522 meter over havets overflade i Dolomitterne. Det er især internationalt kendt blandt turister for de skisportsmuligheder, der findes i området. Forskellige lifte bringer turisterne over 2000 meters grænsen. I 2007 blev verdensmesterskabet i freestyle ski afholdt her. Om sommeren tiltrækker det mange vandrere. Den vigtigste økonomiske aktivitet i området er turisme.
