Katedralen i Ostuni, som ligger på toppen af den højeste bakke i byen og er viet til Santa Maria dell'Assunzione, blev påbegyndt i 1435 og færdiggjort mellem 1470 og 1495.
Den har en karakteristisk facade i sene gotiske former, delt af pilastre. Den centrale del afsluttes med et tympanon dannet af to buer, vingerne med to halvmåner; tympanon og halvmåner har en krone af trilobede buehoveder med savtakket profil på udskårne konsoller, som strækker sig ned ad siderne og omkring tværskibet. Facaden er åbnet af tre elegante spidse porte, der hver især er præget af et rosetvindue, hvoraf det centrale, væsentligt større, har 24 stråler. Andre rosetvinduer findes i enderne af tværskibet.
