En kraftig jordskælv, der fandt sted i slutningen af det 14. århundrede, synes at have ødelagt kilden, som senere blev genopbygget. Med flytningen af det urbane liv omkring slottet opstod der en fåregræsningsaktivitet omkring kilden, hvilket medførte behovet for at bygge en drikkeplads. Facaden har to bassiner, to afløb (cannoli) og søjler kronet med kapitæler. Drikkepladsen, lavet af travertin kalksten, blev bygget i første halvdel af det 19. århundrede.
