Godset Bilderberg blev købt i 1913 af O I van Tienhoven, som byggede og udviklede ejendommen og i 1918 opstillede en herregård. I 1923 blev godset solgt til Oosterbeek kommune, som to år senere solgte det til Tafelberg Hotel Selskab. THM ombyggede huset. Der blev lavet flere badeværelser, og der blev tilføjet en spisesal. Hotellet åbnede i 1926.
