La tenuta Bilderberg fu acquistata nel 1913 da O I van Tienhoven, che la costruì e la sviluppò, e vi costruì una villa nel 1918. Nel 1923 la tenuta fu venduta al comune di Oosterbeek, che due anni dopo la vendette alla Tafelberg Hotel Maatschappij. La THM ristrutturò la casa. Furono realizzati più bagni e fu aggiunta una sala da pranzo. Nel 1926 l'hotel aprì.
