Kastel Amstenrade ligger i den ligeså navngivne by Amstenrade i kommunen Schinnen og udgør et af de smukkeste eksempler på neoclassicisme. Slotindretningen er rigt dekoreret af liège kunstnere.
Den første omtale af Amstenrade stammer fra et dokument fra 1271. I slutningen af det tolvte og begyndelsen af det trettende århundrede var der for første gang tale om en borg fra Hrene Van Amstenraedt, sandsynligvis grundlagt af slægten De Vrien.
