Kasteel Amstenrade ligt in de gelijknamige plaats Amstenrade in de gemeente Schinnen en vormt een van de mooiste voorbeelden van neoclassicisme. Het kasteelinterieur is rijk gedecoreerd door Luikse kunstenaars.
De eerste vermelding van Amstenrade dateert uit een akte uit 1271. In de late twaalfde en het begin van de dertiende eeuw was voor het eerst sprake van een burcht van de Heren Van Amstenraedt, vermoedelijk gesticht door het geslacht De Vrien.
