Boligen på Kogerstraat 66 blev bygget i 1910 som café med boligareal for Cornelis Boon efter hans eget design. Caféområdet hedder nu Kogerstraat 66, og den bagvedliggende bolig er opdelt i Schoonoordsingel 1 og 3. Caféen havde endnu ikke den bemærkelsesværdige facade, men en lille første sal med plads til en loftsrum. Indtil 1931 (da facaden i sin nuværende tilstand blev indtegnet i ansøgningen om byggetilladelse til en garage til bygningen) kunne oplysningerne ikke længere findes præcist, men i 1925 havde bygningen, der havde mistet sin funktion som café, sandsynligvis været i ejer af Reijer Pieter Keijser SRz, en kvægdrivende, i flere år. Det er meget sandsynligt, at han har ombygget første sal for at skabe soveplads til sine børn, hvorved facaden fik sin nuværende, arkitektonisk særlige form.
