IJsseloog er en kunstig ø, midt i Ketelmeer, der har til formål at opbevare forurenet slam fra bunden af søen. Derudover har det en rekreativ og naturudviklingsfunktion. Øen skylder sit navn til beliggenheden ved udmundingen af IJssel og til formen af slamdepotet, der er rundt som et øje, hvilket gør at kontaktfladen mellem slamdepotet og omgivelserne er så lille som muligt. Derudover er ordet "øje" et gammeldansk ord for ø. Tænk på Schiermonnikoog eller Lauwersoog.
