I det sydvestlige hjørne af det nuværende Von Clermontplein lå engang en lille skole (afdeling af kirken) for den jødiske menighed i Vaals. I jødedommen er synagogen stedet for den jødiske gudstjeneste. Bygningen fungerer også som læringscenter og menighedssal. Siden begyndelsen af det 20. århundrede har den første synagoge i Vaals været i enkens Guns hus.
