Vrachelse Heide er en af de få skovarealer nord for Breda. Området ejes af Forsvaret og anvendes stadig, om end i begrænset omfang, af vores hær. Udover spor af militært brug kan der ses små stykker af sandflugtsmiljøer og hede. Jorden er meget fattig, og naturværdien er derfor ikke særlig stor. For at dæmme op for sandflugten blev der omkring 1900 plantet en del nåletræ.
