De Vrachelse Heide is een van de weinige bospercelen ten noorden van Breda. Het gebied is eigendom van Defensie en wordt nog steeds, zij het in beperkte mate, door ons leger gebruikt. Naast sporen van militair gebruik zijn er nog stukjes stuifzand en heide te zien. De bodem is zeer arm en de natuurwaarde is daarom niet erg groot. Om het stuifzand te beteugelen is er rond 1900 veel naaldhout aangeplant.
