Butterhuizen er et kvarter i byen Heerhugowaard. Oprindeligt var det et lokalsamfund langs N242, som hovedsageligt bestod af strækninger af byggeri. Men på grund af væksten i byen Heerhugowaard blev der bygget et kvarter øst for lokalsamfundet, som fik det samme navn. Lokalsamfundet Butterhuizen blev også i en periode, indtil begyndelsen af det 20. århundrede, kaldt Boterhuizen på hollandsk, senere overtog man den betegnelse, der stammer fra den lokale dialekt.
