Wat Jong Soong blev bygget i 1838 af Shan-folket. Templet blev beskadiget, da en stor brand opstod i Mylonggee (store mineraler) og senere blev kaldt Mueang Youm Luang efterfulgt af Mae Sariang. Donationer blev indsamlet, og et nyt tempel blev konstrueret under Phra Sengkum. Templet blev færdigt i 1896 og navngivet Wat Jong Soong. Navnet blev ændret i perioden for PM Phibunsongkhram til Wat Uttayarom. Der er 3 pagoder på bygningen. Pagoden i vest blev bygget i den tidlige regeringstid af Kong Rama VI. Perioden for opførelsen af den midterste pagode er ikke kendt, men det antages, at den indeholder en relikvie af Buddha. Pagoden i øst er i burmesisk stil og har syv spir.
