Den buddhistiske tempel i landsbyen Ban Pang blev oprindeligt kaldt Wat Chom Sari Saimun Bunruang og var beliggende i landsbyen. Senere blev templet genopbygget på bjergtoppen nær landsbyen under ledelse af Kruba Srivicahi, en højt agtet buddhistisk munk i det nordlige Thailand.
Da Kruba Srivichai døde den 21. februar 1938, i en alder af 60 år, blev hans krop bevaret i templet i et år, før den senere blev givet en kongelig kremering den 21. marts 1946 i det kongelige tempel Wat Chamma Thewi i Lamphun. Pavillon, hvor Srivichais relikvier blev indviet i et år, er en åben bygning med et kvadratisk tag i fem niveauer. Det er derfor en vigtig historisk bygning og er blevet bevaret og restaureret.
