Der Flughafen Wien-Schwechat, englisch Vienna International Airport genannt, ist der größte und bekannteste österreichische Flughafen. Er ist Heimatflughafen und Drehkreuz von Austrian Airlines und Basis von Ryanair und Wizz Air. Er befindet sich hauptsächlich auf dem Gebiet der südöstlich an Wien angrenzenden Stadt Schwechat und wurde 1938 zunächst als Militärflugplatz in Betrieb genommen. Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg übernahm er die Rolle des Flughafens für Wien vom Flughafen Aspern. Der Flughafen ist ein Knotenpunkt bei Flügen vor allem nach Osteuropa und in den Nahen Osten und der größte Arbeitgeber der Ostregion Österreichs. Im Jahr 2019 verbanden ihn 77 Fluggesellschaften mit 217 Zielen in 68 Ländern weltweit. Die börsennotierte Flughafen Wien AG betreibt den Flughafen.
