Die Kirche von Bavegem ist aus Backstein errichtet, aber am Fuß der Wände sieht man noch die Sandsteine, auf denen die Kirche gebaut wurde. Diese Steine stammen von einer ehemaligen romanischen einschiffigen Saalkirche. Die Kirche wurde um 1910 vergrößert.
