La chiesetta di Bavegem è costruita in mattoni, ma alla base dei muri si possono ancora vedere le pietre di arenaria su cui è stata costruita la chiesa. Queste pietre provengono da una precedente chiesa romanica a navata unica. La chiesa è stata ampliata intorno al 1910.
