Visé liegt beidseitig der Maas. Die Stadt grenzt teilweise an die niederländische Gemeinde Eijsden, mit der Maas als Grenzfluss dazwischen.
In Visé befindet sich die ursprünglich aus dem 8. Jahrhundert stammende Sint-Martinus und Hadelinuskirche. 1338 wurden die Reliquien des heiligen Hadelinus von der Kirche in Celles nach Visé übertragen. Der Reliquienschrein wurde zwischen 1972 und 1974 restauriert und ist seitdem wieder in der Kirche von Visé. An jedem dritten Sonntag im September findet hier die Hadelinusprozession statt.
