Visé ligt aan weerszijden van de Maas. De stad grenst voor een deel aan de Nederlandse gemeente Eijsden, met de Maas als grensrivier ertussen.
In Visé bevindt zich de van oorsprong 8e eeuwse Sint-Martinus en Hadelinuskerk. In 1338 werden de relieken van H. Hadelinus van de kerk van Celles naar Visé overgebracht. Het reliekschrijn werd tussen 1972 en 1974 gerestaureerd en is sindsdien weer terug in de kerk van Visé. Elke derde zondag in september vindt hier de Hadelinusprocessie plaats.
