Auf dem Gelände, wo Ende des neunzehnten Jahrhunderts das Militärkrankenhaus errichtet wurde, stand einst 'Fortje 4 von Berchem'. Es war Teil des Vorgängers des Brialmontgürtels. Heute bildet das Groen Kwartier einen angenehmen, autofreien Wohnpark (8 ha) in der Stadt. In der ehemaligen Kapelle eröffnete Sergio Herman das Restaurant The Jane.
