Das Museum befindet sich im Erdgeschoss des Rathauses am Markt. Es ist nach Jan Broeckaert benannt, einem Wetteraar, der unter anderem Gemeindesekretär, Sekretär des Amtsgerichts in Dendermonde und Mitglied der flämischen Akademie war. Es hat eine schöne Sammlung handwerklicher Materialien, alter Kleidung und Andachtsmaterialien. Besondere Beachtung verdienen die ländliche Gaststätte, die Landhausküche und die Dorfschule. Das Highlight ist das alte Interieur der Apotheke Maudens aus der Van Cromphoutstraße. Wissenschaftlich von Bedeutung sind die Särge, die auf einem prähistorischen Friedhof in der Teilgemeinde Massemen gefunden wurden. Schließlich hat das Museum auch eine umfangreiche Dokumentation über das Vereinsleben angesammelt und die private Sammlung von Albert Van de Velde über die beiden Weltkriege ist ebenfalls zu bewundern.
