Die Heilig-Blut-Basilika in Brügge schließt südwestlich an das Rathaus an. Beide stehen auf dem Gelände der im 9. Jahrhundert errichteten Grafenburg östlich des Marktplatzes Grote Markt, nach der der Rathausplatz heute Burg heißt. Die Kirche ist heute das älteste Gebäude auf dem ehemaligen Burggelände. Die Doppelkirche besteht aus der Basiliuskapelle als Unterkirche und einer Oberkirche. Der Sakralbau ist Aufbewahrungsort einer der bedeutendsten Reliquien Europas, einer Heiligblut-Reliquie. Seit 1923 hat sie den Rang einer Basilica minor.
