"Ploegsteert" ist auch der Titel eines Albums und eines Songs von "Het Zesde Metaal". Es bezieht sich auf das gleichnamige henegauische Dorf. Der Song "Ploegsteert" handelt von dem verstorbenen Frank Vandenbroucke, einem Wunderkind und Radrennfahrer. Am 16. Februar 2012 wurde das Album in der AB vorgestellt und später mit einer goldenen Schallplatte ausgezeichnet. 2018 belegte der Song den zweiten Platz in der Lage Landenliste. Ploegsteert ist die letzte Ruhestätte des Radrennfahrers Frank Vandenbroucke.
